Avian Influenza

 

 

1. Poland reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds and 9 in poultry

On April 13, 14, 15 and 17, Poland reported 1 outbreak in wild birds and 9 in poultry of H5N1 HPAI in Masovian Voivodeship and one other location, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died, and 590,000 poultry infected, 5,093 deaths, and 370,000 culled.

 

2. Austria reported 10 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On April 13, 14 and 17, Austria reported 10 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Burgenland and 2 other locations, resulting in 11 wild birds infected and died.

 

3. Italy reported 5 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On April 13, Italy reported 5 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, resulting in 5 wild birds infected and died, and 3 culled.

 

4. Czech Republic reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On April 14, Czech Republic reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Vysočina Region, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

5. Hungary reported 3 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On April 15, Hungary reported 3 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Somogy County and 2 other locations, resulting in 3 wild birds infected and died.

 

6. Romania reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On April 15, Romania reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Sălaj County, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

7. Denmark reported 9 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On April 16, Denmark reported 9 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Jammerbugt Municipality and 4 other locations, resulting in 9 wild birds infected and died.

 

8. Lithuania reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On April 16, Lithuania reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Klaipėda County, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

9. United Kingdom reported 7 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds and 2 in poultry

On April 17, the United Kingdom reported 7 outbreaks in wild birds and 2 in poultry of H5N1 HPAI in England and one other location, resulting in 7 wild birds infected and died, and 390 poultry infected with 72 deaths.

 

10. Belgium reported 7 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On April 17, Belgium reported 7 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in the Flemish Region and 2 other locations, resulting in 7 wild birds infected and died.

 

11. Sweden reported 7 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On April 17, Sweden reported 7 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Tjörn Island and 3 other locations, resulting in 7 wild birds infected and died.

 

12. Russia reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On April 17, Russia reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, resulting in 2 wild birds infected and died.

 

13. Chile reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry

On April 17, Chile reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Araucanía Region, resulting in 2,500 poultry infected and 2,000 deaths.

 

14. Côte d'Ivoire reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry

On April 15, Côte d'Ivoire reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Zanzan District, resulting in 95,000 poultry infected and died.

 

15. India reported 3 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry

On April 17, India reported 3 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Chhattisgarh and one other location, resulting in 5,744 poultry infected, 5,444 deaths, and 25,000 culled.

 

16. South Korea reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry

On April 16, South Korea reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in South Chungcheong Province, resulting in 25 poultry infected, 5 deaths, and 26,000 culled.

 

17. Nepal reported 10 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry

On April 16, Nepal reported 10 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Madhesh Province and 2 other locations, resulting in 5,398 poultry infected and died, and 23,000 culled.

 

18. Philippines reported 25 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry

On April 16, the Philippines reported 25 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Nueva Ecija Province and 6 other locations, resulting in 22,000 poultry infected and died, and 106,000 culled.

1. Poland reported 7 Newcastle disease outbreaks

On April 13, 14 and 17, Poland reported 7 outbreaks of Newcastle disease in Masovian Voivodeship and 2 other locations, resulting in 190,000 poultry infected, 27,000 deaths, and 304,000 culled.

 

2. Turkey reported 2 rabies outbreaks

On April 15, Turkey reported 2 outbreaks of rabies in Diyarbakır Province and one other location, resulting in 2 domestic dogs infected and died.

 

3. Romania reported 1 rabies outbreak

On April 15, Romania reported 1 outbreak of rabies in Iași County, resulting in 1 wild red fox infected and died.

 

4. Moldova reported 18 rabies outbreaks

On April 15 and 17, Moldova reported 18 outbreaks of rabies in Dondușeni District and 4 other locations, resulting in 16 cattle, 11 dogs/cats and 6 wild red foxes infected, with 3 cattle and 10 dogs/cats dying, and 5 red foxes culled.

 

5. Armenia reported 1 rabies outbreak

On April 17, Armenia reported 1 outbreak of rabies in Yerevan, resulting in 1 domestic dog infected and died.

 

6. Argentina reported 3 scrapie outbreaks

On April 13, Argentina reported 3 outbreaks of scrapie in Santa Fe Province and Entre Ríos Province, resulting in 3 sheep infected and died.

 

7. United Kingdom reported 2 serotype 3 bluetongue outbreaks

On April 13, the United Kingdom reported 2 outbreaks of serotype 3 bluetongue in England, resulting in 2 cattle infected.

 

8. Israel reported 1 peste des petits ruminants outbreak

On April 13, Israel reported 1 outbreak of peste des petits ruminants in the Southern District, resulting in 25 sheep infected and died.

On April 17, Romania reported 1 outbreak of paratuberculosis in Bistrița-Năsăud County, resulting in 2 cattle infected.

 

14. Italy reported 3 lumpy skin disease outbreaks

On April 17, Italy reported 3 outbreaks of lumpy skin disease in Sardinia, resulting in 7 cattle infected and 4 deaths.

 

15. Cyprus reported 31 SAT1 FMD outbreaks

On April 13 and 16, Cyprus reported 31 outbreaks of SAT1 foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Larnaca District and one other location, resulting in 3 cattle, 4 domestic pigs and 603 sheep/goats infected, and 1,767 sheep/goats culled.

 

16. Botswana reported 4 SAT1 FMD outbreaks

On April 14, Botswana reported 4 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in the Southern District and one other location, resulting in 47 cattle infected.

 

17. Zambia reported 1 SAT1 FMD outbreak

On April 14, Zambia reported 1 outbreak of SAT1 FMD in Western Province, resulting in 69 cattle infected.

 

18. Palestine reported 1 SAT1 FMD outbreak

On April 14, Palestine reported 1 outbreak of SAT1 FMD in the West Bank, resulting in 158 sheep and goats infected and 58 deaths.

 

19. South Africa reported 185 SAT2 FMD outbreaks

On April 17, South Africa reported 185 outbreaks of SAT2 FMD in Gauteng Province and 3 other locations, resulting in 5,349 cattle infected and 237 deaths.

1. Lithuania reported 34 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On April 13, Lithuania reported 34 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Alytus County and 2 other locations, resulting in 68 wild boar infected and died.

 

2. Italy reported 25 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On April 13, Italy reported 25 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Emilia-Romagna and 2 other regions, resulting in 25 wild boar infected and died.

 

3. Hungary reported 23 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On April 13, Hungary reported 23 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Fejér County and 3 other locations, resulting in 26 wild boar infected and died.

 

4. Latvia reported 16 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On April 14, Latvia reported 16 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Talsi Municipality and 2 other locations, resulting in 16 wild boar infected and died.

 

5. Germany reported 16 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On April 15, Germany reported 16 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Saxony, resulting in 16 wild boar infected and died.

 

6. Spain reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar

On April 16, Spain reported 1 outbreak of ASF in wild boar in Catalonia, resulting in 16 wild boar infected and died.

 

7. Romania reported 25 ASF outbreaks in wild boar and 11 in domestic pigs

On April 17, Romania reported 25 outbreaks in wild boar and 11 in domestic pigs of ASF in Iași County and 8 other locations, resulting in 39 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 7,099 infected, 41 deaths, and 128 culled.

 

8. Philippines reported 69 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs

On April 13, the Philippines reported 69 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Quezon Province and 11 other locations, resulting in 413 domestic pigs infected, 83 deaths, and 289 culled.
