Avian Influenza
1. United Kingdom Reports 4 Cases in Poultry and 16 Cases in Wild Birds of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, the United Kingdom reported 4 cases in poultry and 16 cases in wild birds in England. A total of 4,252 poultry were infected, with 308 deaths, and 24 wild birds/free-range poultry were infected and died.
2. Canada Reports 5 Cases in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, Canada reported 5 cases in poultry across 5 provinces including British Columbia. A total of 4,213 poultry were infected and died, and 109,000 were culled.
3. Colombia Reports 2 Cases in Wild Birds of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, Colombia reported 2 cases in wild birds across 2 departments including Sucre. A total of 49 wild birds were infected, with 42 deaths and 69 culled.
4. Japan Reports 15 Cases in Wild Birds of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, Japan reported 15 cases in wild birds across 6 prefectures including Kagoshima. A total of 19 wild birds were infected and died.
5. Czechia Reports 1 Case in Wild Birds and 1 Case in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, Czechia reported 1 case in wild birds and 1 case in poultry in Hradec Králové Region. A total of 39 wild birds/free-range poultry were infected and died, 10 were culled, and 40 poultry were infected and died.
6. Germany Reports 2 Cases in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, Germany reported 2 cases in poultry in North Rhine-Westphalia. A total of 70 poultry were infected and died, and 16,000 were culled.
7. Poland Reports 4 Cases in Wild Birds and 6 Cases in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 30 and 31, Poland reported 4 cases in wild birds and 6 cases in poultry across 5 voivodeships including Opole. A total of 6 wild birds were infected and died, and 1.124 million poultry were infected, with 27,000 deaths and 94,000 culled.
8. Netherlands Reports 3 Cases in Wild Birds and 4 Cases in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27 and 30, the Netherlands reported 3 cases in wild birds and 4 cases in poultry across 4 provinces including Limburg. A total of 3 wild birds were infected and died, and 362 poultry were infected, with 112 deaths and 429,000 culled.
9. Portugal Reports 1 Case in Wild Birds and 1 Case in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, Portugal reported 1 case in wild birds and 1 case in poultry across 2 districts including Região de Leiria. A total of 1 wild bird was infected and died, and 20,000 poultry were infected, with 2,954 deaths and 59,000 culled.
10. France Reports 1 Case in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 27, France reported 1 case in poultry in Vendée, Pays de la Loire. Multiple poultry were infected and died, and 180,000 were culled.
11. Finland Reports 1 Case in Wild Birds of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 30, Finland reported 1 case in wild birds in Southwest Finland. A total of 1 wild bird was infected and died.
12. Sweden Reports 1 Case in Wild Birds and 2 Cases in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 30, Sweden reported 1 case in wild birds and 2 cases in poultry across 2 municipalities including Linköping. A total of 2 wild birds were infected and died, and 234 poultry were infected and died, with 50,000 culled.
13. Denmark Reports 1 Case in Poultry of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 30, Denmark reported 1 case in poultry in Lemvig Municipality. A total of 67 poultry were infected and died, and 457 were culled.
14. Latvia Reports 1 Case in Wild Birds of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza
On December 31, Latvia reported 1 case in wild birds in Kuldīga Municipality. A total of 17 wild birds/free-range poultry were infected and died, and 33 were culled.

1. Poland Reports 4 Cases of Newcastle Disease
On December 30, Poland reported 4 cases of Newcastle disease across 2 voivodeships including Greater Poland Voivodeship. A total of 970,000 poultry were infected, with 26,000 deaths and 13,000 culled.
