Avian Influenza

 

1. United States Reports 7 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry and 2 Cases in Wild Birds  

On November 17, the United States reported 7 cases in poultry and 2 cases in wild birds across 6 locations including California. A total of 26,000 poultry were infected and died, 568,000 were culled, and 18 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected and died, with 59 culled.

 

2. Canada Reports 4 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry and 4 Cases in Wild Birds  

On November 17, Canada reported 4 cases in poultry and 4 cases in wild birds across 4 locations including British Columbia. A total of 8,755 poultry were infected and died, 340,000 were culled, and 89 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected and died, with 51 culled.

 

3. United Kingdom Reports 10 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry and 50 Cases in Wild Birds  

On November 17 and 21, the United Kingdom reported 10 cases in poultry and 50 cases in wild birds across 3 locations including England. A total of 6,686 poultry were infected, with 3,020 deaths, and 103 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected, with 95 deaths.

 

4. Denmark Reports 2 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry and 5 Cases in Wild Birds  

On November 17, 19, and 20, Denmark reported 2 cases in poultry and 5 cases in wild birds across 6 locations including Viborg Municipality. A total of 275 poultry were infected and died, 6,200 were culled, and 5 wild birds were infected and died.

 

5. Belgium Reports 19 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds and 1 Case in Poultry  

On November 17, Belgium reported 19 cases in wild birds and 1 case in poultry across 2 locations including the Flemish Region. A total of 29 wild birds were infected and died, and 58,000 poultry were infected, with 150 deaths and 58,000 culled.

 

6. France Reports 4 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry  

On November 17, France reported 4 cases in poultry across 2 locations including Vendée, Pays de la Loire. A total of 31 poultry were infected and died.

 

7. Germany Reports 35 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry  

On November 17, 20, and 21, Germany reported 35 cases in poultry across 5 locations including North Rhine-Westphalia. A total of 1,906 poultry were infected, with 1,681 deaths and 388,000 culled.

 

8. Czechia Reports 2 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry  

On November 17 and 19, Czechia reported 2 cases in poultry in the South Bohemian Region. A total of 132 poultry were infected and died.

 

9. Portugal Reports 2 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry  

On November 17 and 19, Portugal reported 2 cases in poultry across 2 locations including the Porto District. A total of 5,512 poultry were infected, with 5,510 deaths and 33,000 culled.

 

10. Netherlands Reports 4 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry  

On November 17 and 18, the Netherlands reported 4 cases in poultry across 3 locations including North Holland. A total of 361 poultry were infected, with 165 deaths and 228,000 culled.

 

11. Nigeria Reports 13 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry  

On November 17, Nigeria reported 13 cases in poultry in Taraba State. A total of 549 poultry were infected, with 279 deaths and 270 culled.

 

12. Luxembourg Reports 2 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 18, Luxembourg reported 2 cases in wild birds in the Luxembourg District. A total of 2 wild birds were infected and died.

 

13. Norway Reports 1 Case of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 19, Norway reported 1 case in wild birds in Trøndelag. A total of 1 wild bird was infected and died.

 

14. Austria Reports 1 Case of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Poultry and 3 Cases in Wild Birds  

On November 19 and 21, Austria reported 1 case in poultry and 3 cases in wild birds across 2 locations including Lower Austria. A total of 50 poultry were infected and died, and 39 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected, with 35 deaths and 144 culled.

 

15. South Korea Reports 1 Case of Highly Pathogenic H5N9 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 19, South Korea reported 1 case in wild birds in North Jeolla Province. A total of 1 wild bird was infected and died.

 

16. Latvia Reports 4 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 19, Latvia reported 4 cases in wild birds across 3 locations including Viesīte Municipality. A total of 64 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected and died.

 

17. Switzerland Reports 2 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 19, Switzerland reported 2 cases in wild birds across 2 locations including Thurgau. A total of 4 wild birds were infected and died.

 

18. Finland Reports 7 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 20, Finland reported 7 cases in wild birds across 2 locations including Ostrobothnia. A total of 14 wild birds were infected and died.

 

19. Spain Reports 22 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 21, Spain reported 22 cases in wild birds across 5 locations including Galicia. A total of 73 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected and died.

 

20. Ireland Reports 4 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 21, Ireland reported 4 cases in wild birds across 3 locations including County Cork. A total of 11 wild birds were infected and died.

 

21. South Africa Reports 4 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds and 1 Case in Poultry  

On November 21, South Africa reported 4 cases in wild birds and 1 case in poultry across 2 locations including Limpopo. A total of 88 wild birds and free-range poultry were infected, with 72 deaths, and 130 poultry were infected and died.

 

22. Lithuania Reports 2 Cases of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza in Wild Birds  

On November 21, Lithuania reported 2 cases in wild birds across 2 locations including Tauragė County. A total of 2 wild birds were infected and died.

 

Other Animal Diseases

 

1. Poland Reports 2 Cases of Newcastle Disease  

On November 20, Poland reported 2 cases of Newcastle disease across 2 locations including Opole Voivodeship. A total of 203,000 poultry were infected, with 4,705 deaths.

 

2. Thailand Reports 1 Case of Infectious Laryngotracheitis in Poultry  

On November 21, Thailand reported 1 case of infectious laryngotracheitis in poultry in Chachoengsao Province. A total of 2 poultry were infected, with 1 death.
