Avian Influenza

 

 

1. The Netherlands reported 2 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On August 31 and September 3, the Netherlands reported 2 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Flevoland, resulting in 2 wild birds infected and died.

 

2. France reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry

On September 2, France reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Maine-et-Loire, resulting in 150 poultry deaths.

 

3. Bulgaria reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry

On September 2, Bulgaria reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Plovdiv Province, resulting in 260 poultry infected and died.

 

4. Denmark reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On September 3, Denmark reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Næstved Municipality, resulting in 8 wild birds infected and died.

 

5. Chile reported 3 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On September 3, Chile reported 3 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Los Lagos Region, resulting in 99 wild birds and backyard poultry infected and died, and 77 culled.

 

6. New Zealand reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On August 31, New Zealand reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Wellington, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

1. Turkey reported 14 rabies outbreaks

On August 31, Turkey reported 14 outbreaks of rabies in Şanlıurfa Province and 6 other locations, resulting in 18 cattle, horses and other livestock infected, 14 deaths, and 4 culled.

 

2. Moldova reported 2 rabies outbreaks

On August 31 and September 1, Moldova reported 2 outbreaks of rabies in Soroca District and one other location, resulting in 2 domestic dogs infected and died.

 

3. Romania reported 2 rabies outbreaks

On September 4, Romania reported 2 outbreaks of rabies in Vrancea County, resulting in 1 domestic dog infected and died, and 1 wild red fox infected and culled.

 

4. Germany reported 1 serotype 8 bluetongue outbreak

On August 31, Germany reported 1 outbreak of serotype 8 bluetongue in Baden-Württemberg, resulting in 2 cattle infected.

 

5. Lithuania reported 1 serotype 3 bluetongue outbreak

On September 4, Lithuania reported 1 outbreak of serotype 3 bluetongue in Šiauliai County, resulting in 1 wild red deer infected.

 

6. France reported 7 West Nile fever outbreaks

On August 31, France reported 7 outbreaks of West Nile fever in Var and 5 other locations, resulting in 7 horses infected.

 

7. North Macedonia reported 1 West Nile fever outbreak

On August 31, North Macedonia reported 1 outbreak of West Nile fever in Resen Municipality, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

8. Austria reported 1 West Nile fever outbreak

On September 1, Austria reported 1 outbreak of West Nile fever in Vienna State, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

9. Belgium reported 30 West Nile fever outbreaks

On September 4, Belgium reported 30 outbreaks of West Nile fever in Brussels, resulting in 30 wild birds infected and died.

 

10. Hungary reported 1 equine arteritis virus infection outbreak

On September 3, Hungary reported 1 outbreak of equine arteritis virus infection in Heves County, resulting in 3 horses infected.

 

11. Hungary reported 1 enzootic bovine leukosis outbreak

On September 3, Hungary reported 1 outbreak of enzootic bovine leukosis in Pest County, resulting in 1 cattle infected.

 

12. Albania reported 1 peste des petits ruminants outbreak

On September 4, Albania reported 1 outbreak of peste des petits ruminants in Vlorë County, resulting in 10 goats infected and 5 deaths.

On August 31, Greece reported 5 outbreaks of sheep pox in Kozani Province, resulting in 27 sheep infected and 11 deaths.

 

14. Israel reported 1 sheep pox outbreak

On August 31, Israel reported 1 outbreak of sheep pox in the Northern District, resulting in 50 sheep infected.

 

15. North Macedonia reported 3 sheep pox outbreaks

On August 31, North Macedonia reported 3 outbreaks of sheep pox in Kratovo Municipality and one other location, resulting in 28 sheep infected, 23 deaths, and 510 culled.

 

16. Bulgaria reported 3 sheep pox outbreaks

On September 2, Bulgaria reported 3 outbreaks of sheep pox in Yambol Province and 2 other locations, resulting in 50 sheep infected, 10 deaths, and 590 culled.

 

17. Romania reported 2 sheep pox outbreaks

On September 3, Romania reported 2 outbreaks of sheep pox in Gorj County, resulting in 10 sheep infected and 6 deaths.

 

18. Hungary reported 1 equine infectious anemia outbreak

On August 31, Hungary reported 1 outbreak of equine infectious anemia in Győr-Moson-Sopron County, resulting in 1 horse infected.

On September 4, South Korea reported 11 outbreaks of lumpy skin disease in South Chungcheong Province and 2 other locations, resulting in 43 cattle infected and culled.

On August 31, Lesotho reported 1 outbreak of SAT1 FMD in Qacha's Nek District, resulting in 17 cattle infected.

 

25. South Africa reported 22 SAT1 FMD outbreaks

On September 3, South Africa reported 22 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in Limpopo Province and 4 other locations, resulting in 364 cattle infected and 1 death.

1. Hungary reported 7 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On August 31, Hungary reported 7 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Komárom-Esztergom County and one other location, resulting in 8 wild boar infected and died.

 

2. Finland reported 10 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On August 31, Finland reported 10 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Southern Finland Region, resulting in 10 wild boar infected and died.

 

3. Moldova reported 4 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs

On August 31, Moldova reported 4 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Hîncești District and 2 other locations, resulting in 13 pigs infected, 11 deaths, and 6 culled.

 

4. Germany reported 2 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On August 31, Germany reported 2 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Saxony, resulting in 2 wild boar infected and died.

 

5. Croatia reported 3 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On August 31, Croatia reported 3 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Virovitica-Podravina County and one other location, resulting in 4 wild boar infected and died.

 

6. Latvia reported 20 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On September 1, Latvia reported 20 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Dobele Municipality and 6 other locations, resulting in 20 wild boar infected and died.

 

7. Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 1 ASF outbreak in domestic pigs

On September 2, Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 1 outbreak of ASF in domestic pigs in Republika Srpska, resulting in 1 domestic pig infected and died, and 4 culled.

 

8. Serbia reported 93 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs

On September 2 and 3, Serbia reported 93 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Kolubara District and 3 other locations, resulting in 171 domestic pigs infected, 93 deaths, and 1,538 culled.

 

9. Spain reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar

On September 3, Spain reported 1 outbreak of ASF in wild boar in Catalonia, resulting in 5 wild boar infected and died.

 

10. Poland reported 20 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On September 4, Poland reported 20 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and 4 other locations, resulting in 43 wild boar infected and died.

 

11. Romania reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar and 27 in domestic pigs

On September 4, Romania reported 1 outbreak in wild boar and 27 in domestic pigs of ASF in Călărași County and 7 other locations, resulting in 1 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 386 infected, 31 deaths, and 354 culled.

 

12. Italy reported 8 ASF outbreaks in wild boar and 1 in domestic pigs

On September 4, Italy reported 8 outbreaks in wild boar and 1 in domestic pigs of ASF in Piedmont and 3 other regions, resulting in 9 wild boar infected and died, and 95 domestic pigs culled.

 

13. Laos reported 2 ASF outbreaks in wild boar and 32 in domestic pigs

On September 4, Laos reported 2 outbreaks in wild boar and 32 in domestic pigs of ASF in Xayaboury Province, resulting in 69 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 3,173 infected, 1,935 deaths, and 1,199 culled.
